Show Abstract
A method is described to produce intense beams of nuclear polarized 3He atoms for injection into a fusion reactor. The polarized beam is produced by charge exchange of He+ in sodium vapor followed by selective optical pumping with circularly polarized laser radiation at 1.08 μ.
